little, good things

Little, good things have been happening lately, followed along with some setbacks but such is life, right? Spring is blooming here in NYC, I am off to Boston next week for a quick work trip and starting a new regime of vitamins and acupuncture. Also, we've been discovering some hidden gems in our neighborhood in the Upper East Side. I'll be sharing those in a future article.

In the meantime, here are a few things inspiring me via the web.

Enjoy

First and foremost, we have Queen Letizia of Spain who in her own right, should be queen of the world. I am a huge British monarchy junky, but I caught wind of Queen L. last year and became obsessed. She resurfaced on my agenda a few days ago and based off of research I've done, I feel very strongly that she is absolutely exquisite. Queen Letizia is a modern, working woman with a career in journalism who happened to fall in love with the heir to the Spanish throne. Two words: girl boss. Another three words: bad ass bitch. Love her.

Easter is on Sunday and unfortunately, Matt and I won't be with family celebrating this year. Instead, i'll try to sweeten up the absence of our loved ones with some baked goods, like these sugar cookie bunnies.

obsessing over...

Queen Victoria on PBS Masterpiece.

It's a beautiful series with a gorgeous cast telling the magnificent story of Queen Victoria and her reign. I'm a bit of a British monarchy junkie, so these types of programs fascinate me but regardless, I promise you that you will not regret the time spent watching the PBS version.

It also doesn't hurt that the elegant and gorgeous Jenna Coleman is picture perfect as Victoria and Tom Hughes (Prince Albert) is extremely easy on the eyes.

Start a monthly, donation based membership with PBS today and begin watching immediately.

spring

Happy spring! As much as I love winter, I'm very much looking forward to mild weather, light coats, open-toed shoes, linen dresses, pastel flowers lining the streets of NYC and iced coffee.

little, good things

I don't know about you, but now more than ever, I am desperate for things in life that bring me peace, happiness and inspiration. With that said, I hope you find the same zen and joy I did when I came across these gems via the web.

Stay strong.

elopement

Choosing to elope was one of the easiest decisions that I've ever made. Small, intimate wedding have always been attractive to me, which is most likely a product of me being my parent’s daughter. My parents eloped as well and to this day (I am turning 27 in two months) I’ve never seen a photo of their wedding day. I’ve only heard the story, which in my eyes makes it that much more romantic.

Matthew and I had a total of 11 guests who attended our ceremony at the New York City Marriage Bureau on May 26, 2016. We then had our reception dinner at a quaint, French restaurant in West Village called Bobo. It was a warm spring day and what I loved is every time I looked around, everyone was relaxed and enjoying themselves.

Elopement may not be for everyone and that is fair enough. We all deserve to live out our dreams and visions. But what I love about the memories of our wedding is it was purely about the two of us, no distractions, drama or hashtags. To me, that’s what it should be about.

little, good things

It's been far too long since I've written here and I feel terrible about it. Now more than ever, I am desperate for some creativity in my life and need this space to find a bit of solace for my passions and art.

Matthew and I are settling into married life in our lovely apartment in the upper east side. We are coming more acquainted with the area and are even becoming locals at our new favorite cafe, Bluestone, which is an Australian cafe that serves a brilliant flat white and toast with Vegemite/avocado. Everything tastes and feels better with Matthew by my side.

Here are a few little, good things that I am loving right now.

Mimi Thorisson, food writer/blogger, Manger. I came across Mimi's Instagram account the other day and I instantly fell in love. She is brilliant in all sense of the word. Her style, her aesthetic, her talent in the kitchen and with the written word,…

Her style, her aesthetic, her talent in the kitchen and with the written word, her family, her home in the French countryside--I could go on forever.

Matthew and I have a few weeks free on Hulu and we came across this series, 11.22.63 based off of a Stephen King book about traveling back in time to prevent the assassination of President Kennedy. Definitely binge worthy!

Happy 4th of July Weekend!

I hope everyone has an amazing, relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Matthew and I went on a beautiful (and kind of dangerous) hike in upstate New York yesterday and will be spending the rest of the weekend celebrating our two year anniversary since we met with yummy cocktails and appetizers from our favorite, Russ and Daughters.
